Delete Your AIVO Account and Data

This page explains how to request deletion of your AIVO account and the data associated with it. AIVO is the AI‑powered adaptive learning platform operated by Aivo AI Learning Technologies Inc. ("AIVO," "we," "us"), published on Google Play and the App Store as AIVO Learning. These steps apply to accounts created in the AIVO mobile apps and at aivolearning.com.

If your account was created for you by a school or district, some records may be controlled by that organization — see School- and district-managed accounts below.

1. Delete your account from the app

The fastest way to request deletion is from inside the app or website where you are signed in:

  1. Sign in to AIVO as the parent or account owner.
  2. Open Settings → Account.
  3. Select Delete account and type the confirmation word shown.
  4. Submit the request. It is queued immediately, you see its status on the same screen (with the option to cancel while it is still pending), and the erasure of your account and the learner profiles you manage is carried out under our verified deletion workflow and completed within 30 days (see Retention period).

The same flow is available in the AIVO Learning mobile app under Settings → Delete account. If you want only a specific learner profile removed — not the whole account — email us as described in Section 2, or ask your school or district administrator for school-managed learners (Section 5).

Teachers, therapists, and caregivers can request deletion of their own professional account the same way, from the mobile app's Settings → Delete account (parents can also use the website's Settings). Deleting a professional account removes that person's access and their profile; it does not delete a learner's records, which belong to the learner's family or school.

2. Request deletion without signing in

If you cannot sign in, you can still request deletion. Email [email protected] from the address associated with your account with the subject line "Delete my account", and include:

  • the email address on the account, and
  • the name of the learner profile(s) if you want specific learners removed.

We verify that the request comes from the account holder (or a verified parent, for a child's data) before we act, to protect against unauthorized deletion. If we cannot verify the request, we will contact you for additional confirmation rather than delete data on an unverified request.

3. What is deleted and what is kept

Deleted. When a deletion request is completed, we remove the personal data we hold for the account and its learners, including:

  • account profile and login credentials (name, email, password);
  • learner profiles, including any assistive‑input and functioning‑level settings;
  • learning history: lessons, assessments, mastery and progress records, tutor and homework conversations, and speech‑practice recordings and transcripts;
  • uploaded content such as IEP documents and homework images;
  • notifications, preferences, and in‑app messages.

Kept for a limited time or by law. A small set of records is retained only where we are legally or contractually required to keep it, or need it to run the service safely:

  • Billing and tax records (invoices, payment references — never full card numbers) are retained for the period required by financial and tax law, then deleted.
  • Security and audit logs needed to detect abuse and meet legal obligations are retained on a rolling schedule and then deleted or de‑identified.
  • De‑identified or aggregate data that can no longer be linked to you or a learner may be retained; it contains no personal information.
  • Records we are required to preserve by a legal hold, subpoena, or a school/district contract are retained until that obligation ends.

4. Retention period

We begin processing a verified deletion request promptly and complete the erasure of personal data within 30 days, except for the limited categories listed in Section 3 that we are required to retain. Backups are purged on our rolling backup cycle, so residual copies in encrypted backups are removed within 90 days. After these periods, the retained categories in Section 3 are deleted or de‑identified on their own legally defined schedules.

Deleting your account is permanent and is separate from cancelling a subscription. If you want a copy of your data, export it first from Settings → Privacy → Export before you delete.

5. School- and district-managed accounts

If a learner's account is provided and managed by a school or district, that organization is the controller of the education records. In that case, submit the deletion request to your school or district administrator, who can action it in the AIVO admin console or ask us to. We will assist the organization and will confirm completion.
